Throughout 2016 you have received an abundance of communication from us concerning the New GeoWarehouse, beginning with our Collaboration initiative, moving forward to the Early Release (that was announced last month) as well as the planned full release of the product. Naturally this has triggered some frequently asked questions to which we dedicate this blog.

What is the “Early Release” version of the NEW GeoWarehouse?

The “Early Release” version of the NEW GeoWarehouse is a more complete version of our online solution, but is still “in-development”.

It is your sneak preview to access and start using the NEW GeoWarehouse today!!

Teranet has spent the last two years rebuilding and refining GeoWarehouse using your feedback.  With your help, we have been able to identify and develop a solution that will support your current workflow in a faster, easier and more efficient way.

What is the difference between GeoWarehouse Collaboration, the “Early Release” version of the NEW GeoWarehouse and the NEW GeoWarehouse?

The GeoWarehouse Collaboration was the NEW GeoWarehouse in the building & development phase, and features were released periodically. A select group of real estate sales professionals were granted access to this environment and provided constant feedback, participating in focus groups, and filled out surveys to make sure the solution would support the ideal workflow for property and land information search.

The “Early Release” version of the NEW GeoWarehouse is a more completed version of our online solution but is still “in-development”.  This version is available to all real estate board users.

How do I access the “Early Release” version of the NEW GeoWarehouse when logged into GeoWarehouse?

Once you have logged into your GeoWarehouse Classic solution (current solution), select “Go to NEW GeoWarehouse” in the top right corner of the screen.

How can I revert back to GeoWarehouse Classic?

If you are in the NEW GeoWarehouse, going back to GeoWarehouse is pretty easy – just select “GeoWarehouse Classic” in the top right corner of the screen.

What are the NEW features of the NEW GeoWarehouse?

The NEW GeoWarehouse brings NEW and enhanced features, such as:

  • Enhanced Mapping and Search capabilities. Province-wide search capabilities for Address, PIN and ARN in a single Omni bar. Auto-suggestions by Address, Municipality and Owner. Enhanced Condo Unit search options.

Which features are not included in the “Early Release” version of the NEW GeoWarehouse?

Now it’s time to perform your search

The NEW GeoWarehouse provides many different ways to perform searches. Through the search window – this is easy as 1-2-3!

Searching using the search bar – You can search by address, name, and PIN & ARN in the omni search bar by simply typing it in. Suggested matches will appear in the drop-down menu or you can search to receive all matches.

When searching for a condo, type the street address including the suite number in the search window. For example, enter the suite – street address (i.e. 201 – 228 Queens Quay West) or the street address suite (i.e. 228 Queens Quay West 103). If the address and suite is not shown in the matches, select the Condominium Building Address option or Search.

If the unit required is not shown in the search results, hover over the address for the building and select the arrow icon that points to the right. A Condo Units window will appear and you can scroll down to find the level of interest or select the downward arrow to the right of SELECT BY LEVEL. Results associated to the level selected will appear and you can scroll down to find the unit of interest. The push pin icon identifies a suite. The car icon identifies a locker or parking.

Searching using the map – You can use your mouse to move the map around and there is a full selection of map navigation options located at the top right-hand corner of the map – take a moment to familiarize yourself with these options. Once you have located your property, you can request information about a property on the map with a single click.  Simply move to the area on the map, single click the property of interest and a box will open.

Searching for a property by Lot & ConcessionYou can change the search criteria to Lot & Concession by selecting the down arrow to the right of Search All. Once selected, the omni search bar will present a Township, Concession and Lot field where you select the criteria using the down arrow. The map will reposition and outline the area of interest. Select Search to display all matches. A search results window will appear on the left side of the page.  Scroll through the results to find the property of interest.  You will notice a blue push pin for each result on the map. If a push pin is selected, it will enlarge slightly and turn a darker blue. To view more information about the property, select the downward arrow in the results window to the right of the address OR select the push pin.

In any search you perform, search results will always appear in a pane to the right of the map.

Finally, another fantastic feature of the NEW GeoWarehouse is the ability to find recent searches and recently viewed properties with ease. When you click on the search window, a drop-down window will automatically appear providing you with a list of recent searches and recently viewed properties.

Step one in the process of getting started on the NEW GeoWarehouse will be to configure your account settings. To do this you will select the account icon from the menu on the top right side of the webpage. The Account Settings drop-down provides options which include My Account (where you can edit your profile and view account details), messages, access the help center, take a tour of the solution and logout.

When you select My Account, the My Account menu will appear, offering you the following selections: Profile, Downloads, Subscriptions, Billing and Payments and Account Preferences. In addition to the My Account menu on the left-hand side, you can also see a snapshot which summarizes your profile information, viewed reports and subscription information.

Profile: Maintaining a current profile – this is critical because what is in your profile will determine the customization you see in your reports. From the My Account menu you can both view your information or choose to edit it by selecting Profile.

Downloads: While you will see the Downloads section as a menu option, this is a feature that is coming soon.

Subscriptions: The Subscriptions section allows you to view the details of your subscription. In 2017 you will be able to extend your subscription automatically through this section. If you want to review your Reports history, simply click the Details button to view a complete reports history.

Billing and Payments: Here you can view both your billing method, payment history and a history of all purchases made through the GeoWarehouse Store.

Preferences: As it is critical to maintain a current profile, equally critical is configuring your account Preferences. Your account Preferences enable you to set preferences for things like Comparable Search Criteria and PDF Property Report default preferences which will expedite the completion of tasks when using the NEW GeoWarehouse.
